The first pic of this series. When I took the pic the sparrow sat there and kept looking left and right which inspired the title. Sam thanks for bringing to my notice that people cannot read my mind.. he he so here's why I kept the sparrow on the left side of the frame.
1. It is apparent in the picture that the sparrow is the subject matter so I didn't "have to" put it in the center to show that it was the subject.
2. The bird is looking left so by keeping it on the left and not showing what it's looking at I could essentially say what it was looking at (a cat in this instance) even though actually it was looking at nothing in particular.
3. And last since the bird was looking left I wanted to place it near the edge of the frame so that it seemed as if it was actually looking "outside" the frame. That didn't come out too well but that was the idea.

very very nice...
is the background worked on?
Thanks.... the background is a clay tennis court. The depth of field was set to focus on the sparrow, blurring the court beyond recognition and providing an even background to the shot.
excellent focus.......
Great shot! I like that you chose to keep the bird on the left of the frame. Makes for an interesting photo.
a very nice capture, very cute
LOL! I love the title.. Is there a reason why you did not capture the bird at the center of frame?
Thanks everyone for your comments
@Dave... you hit the nail on the head.
@Sam... There were 3 reasons why I chose to put the sparrow on the left side of the frame.

Cute little bird, nice composition!
Nice shot Palak. Wonder how long you had to wait to get it, since these brids keep hopping and jumping.
Regarding the frame, though you put enough thought in it, but normal theory of photography says never to have the subject in the centre. It should either be the entire frame or at a corner not more than 1/3rd or 2/3rd of the frame. Am sure you have read about this in the books you mention.
Neat and sharp shot. Good Job. Will tag you also..
Great use of 2/3 rule, I like working with that rule myself.
Very nice pic and i think keeping the bird on the left of the frame does make sense!
